It all started when the founder of St. John discovered the need for a beer that reflected the unique taste of Ethiopian American restaurants that grew across America. With combined settings of restaurants and storefronts creating opportunities. An opportunity to introduce spices, jewelry, traditional cloth, and the great staple food of Ethiopia. It made him realize that restaurants can offer more to their customers. That’s when the quest for the creation of St. John started. St. John Beer is proudly Made in America. St. John’s taste was developed by intensive research for its ingredients and with the refined brewing skills of the originator Mr. Alex Zenebe, St. John managed to exceed the expectations of experts of Northern California brewmasters.
OUR BEERS
Named after the ancient Ethiopian Holiday, our beer tastes heavenly and its divine in a glass. St. John day is New Year Day in Ethiopia, as the old fades away and the new is emerges in Ethiopia families prepare for the New Year by changing all their house hold goods. The facts that children will be advancing to a new grade, it takes the excitement to a new level. New bag backs, new text books, exercise books, uniforms (for those who have to get one) and holiday gets its excitement overloaded. Family members will gather to celebrate together traveling from near and far. Elders will thank their creators and their family. Praising their god for the good time they are having, they bless the host and wisha new year wish using the traditional line “Amet Amet Yadersen” translation “May God keep us together for years to come.” When you drink St. John beer we want you to enjoy it like you are having a new day.
